20 images of STYLE.

all images sourced from a photography blog i check religiously for inspiration, and who's street-walker capturing style of photography i love, jakandjil.com. such street styles of the endlessly surprising people of new york are what i miss the most from home while in the land of six foot long winter coats and ugly boots.

reaction: see journal!

20 images for my final project.

polaroids taken through a night visiting a friend at her hometown. i love polaroid film, but have never had the opportunity to work with it. though it is simplistic, i was handed an old camera and enjoyed the idea that in a digital and instant world of cameras, this primitive box may not produce perfect images, but ones that remind me of the temporary state of art.
twenty of my attempts follow, the additional 21st photo (the first below), a photo i took for an earlier post, inspired the project:

tedtalks: comment on one.

Stacey Kramer: The best gift I ever survived

stacey kramer asks, "Imagine in your head: a gift."
with a promise.
its going to do incredible things for you.

bring your family together
it will make you feel loved and appreciated like never before.
adoration and admiration will overwhelm you.
you will gain a new understanding and trust in your body.
it will give you unsurpassed vitality and energy
you will meet new people, have a healthier life style.
you will get an 8 week vacation of doing absolutely nothing.
you will eat gourmet meals.
receive flowers by the truckload.
you will look so great, people will ask if you had "any work done."
you will have lifetime supply of good drugs.
you will feel challenged.
inspired.
motivated.
with feelings of peace.
health.
serennity.
happiness.

all for 55,000. an incredible deal.
does amazon carry it? does it have an apple logo? is there a waiting list?

yet.
Wait.
stacey wouldnt wish this gift for you.
a gift that profoundly altered her life in ways she didnt expect, in ways that stacey, in time, came to consider gifts.

it is not the physical cancer that is your gift, stacey.
your Experience had a positive result.
prolonging your life.
emphasizing the beauty of it and the life of the nature and people around you.

not everyone is as lucky.

TRANSPORTATION: RAD AND BAD.

^ not rad or bad, but sad.
^ transportation, or lack thereof.
^ cuse transpo. gets swanky for parents. [shock.]
^ can i drive this?
^ nice spokes.
^ walk, its the raddest.
^ teach me how, rad.
^ carting air?
^ i dig a basket.

^ a well worn seat.
^ be uglier. [but i suppose its the point.]
^ an organized point of center.
^ a slew of [unfortunate] train patterns.
^ all you need are these.
^ train headrest covers. [ugh.]
^ a nicer station.
^ amtrak goes digital.
^ train design feels trapped.
^ a good latch.
^ power on a high-speed.
